Established in 1992, by Jim Rowland, Pacific Coast Detailing now currently employs more than 65 people. Our highly skilled workforce excels both in Steel Detailing Knowledge and thorough 3D Modeling Capabilities. Pacific Coast Detailing was started when Steel Detail Drawings were still created entirely by hand. We have evolved and developed ahead of the industry curve-and now specialize in 3D Modeling. PCD is a full service detailing company, focusing primarily on 3D Structural Steel Modeling / Building Information Modeling (BIM)/ and Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing PCD Specializes in MEP Modeling(MEP) Coordination Modeling - Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning Coordination (HVAC). Pacific Coast Detailing relies on our employee’s vast knowledge of Steel Detailing, combined with the latest technology to help deliver projects on time, and on budget.

Every PCD project is backed with a strong Project Management Team whose responsibility it is to keep the project flowing smoothly, on time, and on budget. In order to achieve this, the Project Management Team proactively works with the Design Team, Fabricator, and GC, to obtain RFI answers, determine outstanding issues, and maintain consistent communication. Our Project Team is available in an instant to: conference call, host web conferencing, or communicate using our 3D Model to expedite issue resolution. PCD uses Microsoft Project to further help our teams evaluate time constraints, manpower allocation, and maintain deadlines.

Every project is managed through our US office. Every US Project Team has a Project Manager with a minimum of 10 years either: steel detailing experience/fabrication shop experience/or field experience, and a Project Coordinator with a minimum of 12 years of Tekla Structures experience. It is this combination of steel knowledge, combined with a strong long-term background with the latest in technology that makes PCD unique in the Steel Detailing business. Our Project Teams works together to coordinate the project, maintain integrity, follow PCD’s Project Flow, and deliver on time-each and every time.
